Gethsemane Camp is a local body of Ordo Templi Orientis in Belgium, serving those interested in the study and practice of Thelema.

Our activities bring together ceremonial work, esoteric study and fellowship. 

Through these activities, members have opportunities to engage with Thelemic principles, explore ritual traditions and deepen their understanding of the Order.

We value individual responsibility, mutual respect and the freedom of each person to pursue their own path.

We do not claim to determine another person's True Will. Our aim is to provide an environment in which individuals can study, participate and explore Thelema for themselves.

What Is Thelema?

Thelema is a philosophy and spiritual tradition expressed in the words:

“Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.”

At its heart is the concept of True Will: the discovery and fulfilment of one's authentic purpose. Thelema encourages individuals to seek a deeper understanding of themselves and to act in accordance with that understanding.

The principle is not simply an invitation to follow every passing desire. It calls for self-knowledge, awareness and the responsible pursuit of one's Will.

Thelema draws upon philosophical, mystical and ceremonial traditions, including symbolism associated with ancient Egypt, Western esotericism and the writings of Aleister Crowley.

For many practitioners, its study involves personal reflection, ritual, meditation and the exploration of symbolic and philosophical texts.

Gethsemane Camp offers opportunities to explore these ideas within the tradition of Ordo Templi Orientis.

Ceremonial Work

Ceremony and ritual form an important part of our Thelemic practice. Through ceremonial work, we engage with the symbolism, principles and spiritual traditions of the Order, creating opportunities for contemplation, personal insight and a deeper understanding of Thelema.

All ceremonial activities are conducted in accordance with the traditions and requirements of O.T.O.
